The E-100 Series (E100シリーズ[2] Ī-Hyaku Shirīzu?) is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a series of Badniks created by Dr. Eggman, and a faction of the E-Series. They appeared during the Chaos incident to help the doctor in his campaign to destroy Station Square.[3] However, the line was discontinued some time afterwards, its last model being E-123 Omega. As part of the E-Series, the E-100 Series are very advanced robots that were developed to advance weaponry. [1]

Description[]

There is not a general description for all E-100 Series models, as their appearance and features have varied over time. What all of them do share, however, is a humanoid appearance that is typically based off of another individual, most commonly Dr. Eggman. Another very common feature of theirs is that their names start with the prefix "E-1XX" and their codenames are borrowed from the Greek alphabet.

Being a part of the E-Series, the E-100 Series robots are very advanced.[1] They have also shown extreme resilience to damage, being able to withstand the force of powerful attacks like the Spin Attack. In addition, many are equipped with their own arsenals of weapons.

Most E-100 Series models show limited degrees of sapiency and are capable of communication with each other or other people. Nonetheless, they are still near-mindless drones who work for Eggman. However, some of these robots have been capable of abandoning the Eggman Empire to pursue their own independent goals afterwards.

Several E-100 Series robots have a power source, typically an Animal, serving as their AI.[3] Chaos Emerald energy was used as well during the Emerl incident. When an E-100 Series model is destroyed, its power source will be released.

E-106 Eta New

E-106 Eta, an example of an E-100 Series model, from Sonic the Hedgehog #258.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, following Dr. Eggman's takeover of Dr. Ivo Robotnik's global empire, the doctor would slowly replace his late counterpart's conventional SWATbot forces with his newly designed E-100 Series robots. After Enerjak's attack on New Megaopolis and E-102 Gamma's series of attacks on the elite members of the E-100 Series, however, the number of E-100 Series robots were greatly diminished.

After the Super Genesis Wave re-wrote history, the E-100 Series' past has become largely identical to their video game counterparts'.

IDW Publishing[]

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and spin-offs published by IDW Publishing, the E-100 Series is a series of robots created by Dr. Eggman. Its history is virtually identical to its game counterpart's, up until after the events of Sonic Forces. In this media, it consists of unique robots that are no longer produced by the Eggman Empire. However, parts of them are still collected by some collectors and traders.

"E-113" and "E-117", from LEGO Dimensions.

  • Two likely non-canonical E-100 Series robots, whose names are "E-113" and "E-117", make an appearance in LEGO Dimensions as part of a puzzle in Metropolis Zone. They get tricked into destroying each other after one accuses the other of dropping an Eggman Mark on its head.[4]
