The Dreamscapes are locations that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are locations where, during the Reverie incident, Dr. Eggman used the Reverie to make his dreams into reality.[1]
Description[]
Dreamscapes are worlds where dreams come true once a person is put to sleep by the Reverie. During Eggman's takeover, Dr. Eggman dreamed up a version of a full Eggman Empire, causing new twisted Dreamscapes to form. Prior to Eggman's dreams becoming reality, the only Dreamscape within the Reverie was Reverie Haven.

Many years prior to the Reverie incident, Ariem would be given the role of guardian from her master to guard the dreamscape and the Reverie to stop people from entering and leaving the dreamscape.[1]
Sonic Dream Team[]
In Sonic Dream Team, Dr. Eggman tries to trick Ariem into making his dreams come true with the Reverie by using the captured Cream and Cheese as a "filter" of sorts. Sonic, Amy, Tails, Rouge, and Knuckles attempt to save Cream and Cheese, but they, along with the doctor, are put to sleep by the Reverie and transported into its Dreamscapes.[1]
Points of Interest[]
- Reverie Haven - The main hub of the Reverie and its Dreamscapes. It is where the playable characters of Sonic Dream Team are frozen at first, excluding Sonic. It is relatively barren, though it contains the Dream Portals to other Dreamscapes.
- Scrambled Shores - A Dreamscape reminiscent of a tropical beach. Notably, many trees, arcs, and other parts of the area appear similarly to balloons. It contains Doctor Crabulous. It is entered and explored by Sonic first.
- Dream Factory - A Dreamscape which takes the form of a factory producing Magination and Nightmare Fuel. It contains the Four Man and is first entered by Tails or Cream.
- Nightmare Maze - A forest-themed Dreamscape. At first, it appears to be a maze overrun by healthy nature, with plenty of clear water running throughout the area. However, deeper exploration reveals off-putting purple and pink vines, rivers of Nightmare Fuel, and ominous eyes very likely connected to the Guardian Hunter, which is found in this Dreamscape. It is first entered by Knuckles or Rouge.
- Ego City - An Eggman-themed supercity entirely dedicated to and dreamed up by himself. It is full of praise to his own glory, massive golden statues and dark red banners plastered with his face littering the area. This Dreamscape technically contains Nightmare Eggman, but his fight appears to take place in a new, disconnected area. It is first entered by any of the six playable characters.
- Sweet Dreams - A set of extra levels with no narrative significance. It was introduced in Sonic Dream Team's second content update.
