Quotation1 Hello my sleeping friends. This is the Dreamcaster, and I'm gonna take you on a magical journey. All you have to do is follow my silky voice to the land of sugar plums where you want to go of your own free will and not because you're hypnotised. Quotation2
— Dreamcaster, "In the Midnight Hour"

Appearance

Dreamcaster appears as a skeletal robot without legs or pelvis, instead with just a robotic tail. With metallic plating of light grey and white with red ridges. He has long sharp claws and skull like head with ridged jaws and red swirling eyes used for hypnotising. He wears a tattered robe to make his appearance look ghostly.

History

TV series

Season two

Dreamcaster was made by Dr. Eggman in his scheme to mind-control the villagers. Dreamcaster hijacks the TV studio in order to send hypnotic messages to the people of the island during the late hours while they sleep. Dreamcaster had the whole island under Dr. Eggman's command, even Team Sonic, with the exception of Sticks the Badger who did not own a television and defeated Dreamcaster after Dr. Eggman failed to launch his satellite to control the world.[1]

Personality

Preferring to work under the cover of night, Dreamcaster had a silky smooth voice which he used to hypnotise those who listen to his broadcast. When engaged in combat he can be savage as he rips off his robe to fight Sticks, with roars and arms raised to fight.[1]

Powers and abilities

A robot capable of mass mind-control by hypnotism through television transmission.[1]

Weakness

Those who do not own televisions would not recieve his late night broadcast to be mind-controlled. He also cannot hypnotise those wearing tin foil hats. When destroyed, all those under his control were free.[1]

Trivia

  • Dreamcaster is likely named after the Dreamcast, Sega's final home console. Its colour scheme bares resemblance to its American marketing of the orange swirl logo and white plastic casing.
    • Dreamcaster's eyes could also be a reference to the Dreamcast logo which is also depicted as a spiral.
