The Dragon Kingdom Freedom Fighters is a group mentioned in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They were a Freedom Fighter group group in the Dragon Kingdom that fought against the Iron Dominion. They were later destroyed by their ally, Monkey Khan while under the control of the Iron Queen.

History[]

Dragon Kingdom Mention

The Iron Queen revealing the Dragon Kingdom Freedom Fighters' downfall.

The Dragon Kingdom Freedom Fighters were a resistance group that defended the Dragon Kingdom with their ally, Monkey Khan in 3237. Sadly, the Iron Queen seized control of Khan with her Magitek and killed them all off. Once they were no more, she released Khan to torment him with how he had become her "divine weapon." Khan tried to continue the fight by himself in their memory, but faced great difficulty until reuniting with the Knothole Freedom Fighters.[1][2]

Trivia[]

  • The Dragon Kingdom Freedom Fighters are the only known Freedom Fighter group that has served as more of a plot point rather than a set of characters (other than arguably the High Flying Freedom Fighters), no known members of the group having been introduced.
  • Originally, the Dragon Kingdom Freedom Fighters were considered to appear, where they would have been a homage to the Furious Five from Kung Fu Panda. However, the idea was scrapped.[citation needed]
