I loved my people. More than my life, more than anything. I happily gave everything to protect our new home.

— Dragon, Sonic Frontiers[1]

Dragon[2] ( Ryū?) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They were a heroic Ancient who piloted the Titan Giganto in a battle with The End.

Dragon was an Ancient with glowing eyes, claw-like hands with three fingers on each hand, two fingers on each foot, and two very long protrusions at the back of their head. She had small spikes on their hips and shoulders which hanged downwards. She also had dropped shoulders. Like the other Ancients, her translucent feminine torso contained a glowing Koco as some sort of good-luck charm.

Dragon was one of many Ancients who fled the destruction of their home world when it was attacked by an intergalactic entity known as The End. Dragon settled on the Starfall Islands on earth when the Chaos Emeralds powering their ships were drawn to the planet by a larger gem.

Sometime after their arrival on the islands, The End followed the Ancients to earth and began its attacks on the planet. In an attempt to defeat their enemy, the Ancients constructed four powerful manned machines powered by the Chaos Emeralds called Titans. Dragon was among those chosen to command one of these machines, piloting the most powerful of four, dubbed Giganto.

Dragon and the other three pilots flew their Titans into space to confront The End. Despite their best efforts, the pilots were unable to defeat their enemy and as a last resort, Crane sacrificed themself by pulling and trapping The End inside their Titan. Crane's death, however, was not in vain, as Dragon and the remaining pilots were able to seal Supreme and The End inside Cyber Space, where they remained trapped for thousands of years.

Sonic Frontiers[]

On Kronos Island, Sonic the Hedgehog had slight visions of Dragon when he destroyed Giganto. On Rhea Island, Sonic had visions of Dragon again, but with the other Titan pilots fighting The End as he unsealed the six towers dotting the landscape.

Final Horizon[]

A memory of Dragon from before their battle with The End appeared on top of the first Trial Tower on Ouranos Island. Dragon was slightly unhappy towards Sonic for turning off the six towers on Rhea Island and destroying their Titan. As with the others, Dragon challenged Sonic to a trial to determine if he was worthy of defeating The End. After the trial, Dragon understood the reasoning for Sonic's actions, as she gave her blessing to him to use it defend all that he loves.

Although not much was known about Dragon, she wad a selfless Ancient who had compassion for their people, where she happily sacrificed everything to protect their new home on earth.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

At first, she felt grudge for Sonic after having known he turned off the six towers that sealed The End, as well as destroying Giganto on Kronos Island. However, after the trial, she was more understanding towards his actions and respected him for fighting against his cyber corruption to save his friends.

  • Dragon shares some similarities to Amy. Both are considered heroes and have a desire to protect others, as well as them having a compassion for people; Dragon being the Ancients, and Amy being the Koco.
  • Dragon's name corresponds with their Titan, Giganto, and the fallen Ancient tribe it was designed to honor, as all three are considered to have "big and powerful bodies".[3]
    • Additionally, all four Titan pilots are named after creatures that are important to Chinese culture.
