Plot[]
The episode starts with Sonic being thrown out of The Grim by Shadow. While Sonic was in the Void, he tried to outrun the Grim Birdies. While attempting to escape from them, Sonic damaged the visor in Alpha Grim Birdie. Realizing he can't do this on his own, he decided to get help from the Rebels in New Yoke City.
Arriving in New Yoke City, Sonic saw the city decaying, and the same went for the Boscage Maze and No Place. Sonic then tries to outrun Nine, but Nine, with a hologram of himself, showed Sonic what he can do with the power of the Paradox Prism under his control and turned New Yoke City sideways. Sonic then saved some people hanging on lampposts, but when he tried to save Denizen 1998 and New Yoke City Froggy, he couldn’t catch them, but Prim was able to. The rest of the Denizens were saved by the rest of the Scavengers, Thorn, Rusty and Black Rose. While Hangry and Boscage Maze Froggy wondered who Nine was, due to fact that he resembled Mangey, they were surprised seeing their New Yoke City counterparts. Rebel Rouge and Renegade Knucks showed up and decided to head for the Yoke until they saw some Grim Birdies. Sonic then told them he’ll see them in the Yoke.
As the rest of the rebels and the otherworldly visitors arrived at the Yoke, the Chaos Council was watching them and disagreed with allowing to stay there for shelter, barely having enough energy to protect themselves. As Sonic was making his way to the Yoke, some Grim Birdies shot lasers at him. As Sonic made it to the Yoke and was surrounded by the Grim Birdies, the Chaos Council (except for Dr. Don’t) showed up and helped Sonic fight the robot birds. While fighting, Deep told Sonic that they needed his Prism Energy and that if they don’t stop Nine, New Yoke City and them won’t be around for much longer. Sonic and the Chaos Council defeated the Grim Birdies, but the Alpha got up and escaped. While Mr. Dr. Eggman called Nine a coward and told him to come back, Sonic told them that his powers are unstable and he needed his energy.
Inside the Yoke, things were complicated between both sides. Sonic tried his best to convince him to work together to stop Nine. Sonic told both factions that Nine created a dome in the Grim that accelerated the decay caused by the portals by the Chaos Council. Defeated by Sonic’s words, Mr Dr. Eggman then told them that once the dome is up, they’ll let all who wished to survive inside.
Dr. Don’t turned on a window, which revealed an energy extractor sphere already installed in the room. Everyone saw Mangey inside. However, as Mr Dr. Eggman told him to stop, Don’t was impressed seeing that the efficiency increased by 38%, angering Mr Dr. Eggman. Sonic then started running inside the sphere to activate the dome. As he does that, Rebel and Prim saw some more Grim Birdies coming towards them. But Sonic was able to activate the dome on time. Nine tried to penetrate the dome, but to no avail. Sonic and the others inside the dome may be safe, but what Sonic doesn’t know is that Batten, Sails, and Catfish were still in the decaying No Place, on the sinking Angel's Voyage.
