Template:Infobox Comic Character Doctor Albert W. Wily is the main antagonist of Mega Man in the Mega Man comic series published by Archie Comics. Wily is an evil scientist who wants to destroy Mega Man and take over the world after being widely ignored for the accomplishments he performed alongside his partner, Dr. Thomas Light, who instead got all the credit. He would later assist Light in building the first Robot Master, Blues, and later helped in building the first 6 Robot Masters (sans Rock and Roll), Ice Man, Bomb Man, Fire Man, Guts Man, Elec Man and Cut Man. Prior to the Mega Man comics setting, Wily was banned from directly working on Advanced Robotics for his inhumane experiments on robots. In the Sonic & Mega Man: Worlds Collide comics Wily teams up with Eggman to destroy their arch-nemesis.
History
Pre-Worlds Collide
Sometime after setting base at the Lanfront Ruins, Flash Man patrols the jungle to find the Blue Chaos Emerald, which Wily eagerly scanned. Upon doing so, he accidentally contacted Doctor Eggman and soon after both scientists combine resources to create both the Skull Egg Zone and the Wily Egg. (WC #1)
Shortly after, Wily persuades Proto Man (under the name Break Man) to go after Mega City, and Mega Man. While the two brothers are fighting, Eggman and Wily enter the Interdimensional Gateway to the prepare the Genesis Wave. (WC #0, #1)
Post-Worlds Collide
After Mega Man's world is restored through Chaos Control, Wily is back at Lanfront Ruins with no memory of his team up with Eggman and has the violent urge to stomp on a carton of eggs. His recent video logs lack mention of the Chaos Emerald and Eggman. (Mega Man #28)
Trivia
- Dr. Wily's first name was named after Albert Einstein although there is some resemblance to Albert Einstein as well.
- The Mega Man and Sonic game franchises are very similar, as both have a male human as the main antagonist (Doctor Wily for Mega Man; Eggman for Sonic the Hedgehog) and the main protagonist is blue (Mega Man and Sonic).
- Prior to appearing in Archie Sonic Universe and Archie Sonic the Hedgehog, Wily is mentioned by Eggman in Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 247 as "Albert".
