Doctor Ivo Kintobor (also known as Doctor Julian Kintobor and Anti-Robotnik) (born day 253, 3189) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is the Moebius counterpart of Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Unlike his Mobius Prime counterpart, Anti-Robotnik is a kind and gentle overlander who actually protects the Anti-Mobians from the Suppression Squad.

Appearance[]

Doctor Anti-Robotnik

Anti-Robotnik's original appearance, from Sonic the Hedgehog #11.

Anti-Robotnik's first appearance has the same look as his Mobius counterpart with the exception of his ash gloves, white veterianian's clothes, red pants, ash boots, and red floor boots.

Kintobor's second appearance is a slim and tall bald man with an orange mustache. For attire, he wears a long-sleeved red shirt with a yellow cape on the back and black pants with black boots connecting.

History[]

Kindly Veterinarian[]

Dr. Kintobor ran a veterinarian clinic to heal and protect various Mobians who had been attacked by the Anti-Freedom Fighters. To protect his clinic, he employed a dome force field to keep the Anti-Freedom Fighters out. Additionally, Dr. Kintobor employed Sweep-bots to clean up litter left behind by the Anti-Freedom Fighters.[2]

When he first encountered Sonic Prime by accident, Kintobor initially confused him with his Anti-Mobius counterpart, Scourge the Hedgehog. However, he soon realized Sonic's good intentions, and assisted Sonic Prime in defeating Scourge and helped Sonic to return to his home zone.[2]

Helping Sonic and Amy[]

At least 1-2 years later, Dr. Kintobor once again encountered Sonic Prime when he and Amy Rose traveled to Moebius in order to find assistance against Scourge and his Suppression Squad. Calling off Buns Rabbot from her attack, Dr. Kintobor explained to her the two were good guys. He then proceeded to explain how he'd constructed the Omega Care Unit to prevent Buns' Neuro-Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (NIDS) from spreading throughout her body, and how the Suppression Squad had stolen his Globe Posts, which he'd created to travel to other zones to find new medical techniques to help cure Buns' NIDS. Asking him for help, Sonic and Amy were later directed by Buns to seek out Anti-Amy Rose to defeat the Suppression Squad, though Kintobor objected to this due to her insanity. However, he later allowed Buns to accompany Sonic and Amy in their attempt to recruit her, though he continued to worry about Buns' safety.[1]

Following the successful defeat of Scourge, Dr. Kintobor's globe posts were returned to him by the Suppression Squad. As the Freedom Fighters returned to Mobius Prime, he personally thanked Sonic for all of his help.[3]

Sometime after, unfornately, the Genesis Wave would eventually rewrite the entire multiverse, leaving Dr. Kintobor's fate ambiguous.[4]

Personality[]

Unlike his Mobius Prime counterpart, Dr. Kintobor is the exact opposite. He is a kind and gentle man who wishes to make sure that the people of Moebius are kept safe. He also dislikes pollution and littering and has made Sweep-bot to clean up litter left behind by the Anti-Freedom Fighters.[5] He is very concerned with the safety of others and opposes violent means in general, refusing to give the Omega Suit anything other than non-lethal weaponry.[1]

Relationships[]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Dr. Kintobor meets Sonic from Mobius for the first time when he visited Moebius via the Cosmic Interstate. Since Scourge and Sonic are similar in appearance, he sent the animals to attack him. After trapping his arch-enemy in cage as a distraction, Kintobor got confused about having another Sonic, but then would later warm up to him, helping him return back to his homeworld.[2]

Dr. Kintobor would then help Sonic after Buns had attacked him, mistaking him for Scourge, and would later aid Sonic and Amy in their quest in stopping Scourge by giving them the Globe Posts.[6]

Trivia[]

  • Although Dr. Kintobor is the alternate counterpart to Robotnik Prime, his current appearance looks more like that of Dr. Eggman.
  • Just like his counterpart, even Dr. Kintobor is an Overlander, he has five fingers.
  • His name "Kintobor" is "Robotnik" in reverse. This was Robotnik's real name before his conquest of Mobotropolis in the Prime universe.
  • It was said in an unofficial role-playing Q&A with writer Ian Flynn that Dr. Kintobor was formerly very fond of gardening and poetry during the days of the Great Peace but has been too busy as of late to continue these activities.[7]
