Dr. Crabulous (Dr.ガニガニ Dr. Ganigani?) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a giant balloon crab-based Badnik that has been dreamed by Dr. Eggman during the Reverie incident.
Appearance[]
Dr. Crabulous is based on a real-life crab, but is made out of balloons as well as the original Crabmeat. It has a red cephalothorax with an orange underbelly and four red crustacean-based legs with claw-like feet. It also has gray black-eyed eyestalks, two gray arms with blue striped swim rings attached to it and big round pincers on the end of each arm. Additionally, it has a red human-like nose with long orange mustache on its face similar to that of Dr. Eggman.
History[]
Sonic Dream Team[]
In Sonic Dream Team, Sonic and/or Amy were attacked by Dr. Crabulous while they were passing through Scrambled Shores via Dream Portal. Still, the balloon crab was deflated and the duo returned to the Reverie Haven.
Powers and Abilities[]
Dr. Crabulous is a durable Badnik that can smack down on the ground with either its pincers or its body. Either way, it will release a shockwave that deals damage when in contact with.
Weaknesses[]
Due to being made of balloon-like material instead of metal, Dr. Crabulous can be deflated whenever the player attacks it, as shown when Sonic and/or Amy deflate its pincers, and eventually, the whole Badnik.
Battle[]
Dr. Crabulous is the boss of Scrambled Shores in Sonic Dream Team. It is fought with either Sonic or Amy.
Boss guide[]
After the player reached the Dream Portal, Dr. Crabulous will rise from the sand.
As soon as the fight starts, Dr. Crabulous will leap far away from the player and start smashing its claws on the ground, creating a shockwave. After three strikes, its claw will get stuck in the sand, allowing the player to pop it. Once both its claws are popped, it will stop smashing its pincers and will start stomping the ground, although the attacks cycle doesn't change much. After a few stomps, it will get stuck and the player must get behind it to pop it. After one attack from Sonic or Amy (or three if playing the harder version), it will shrink down to a crab-like size and will start to run away, whereby one last hit will finish the battle, which could be done by either boosting right into it or giving it a Homing Attack.
Trivia[]
- The Japanese name of Dr. Crabulous contains "ガニガニ", which is the Japanese name of Crabmeat. Ergo, it is named "Dr. Crabmeat" in Japanese.
