In the next section, a fork in the road appears and the player can choose one out of two routes from there. The route on the right leads through a tunnel where the player can drive around on the walls. Halfway down this route, the road will have a gap in it where it intersects with the second route. The player can then either jump across the gap and into the second half of the first route, which leads through a tunnel much like the first one, or they can jump down on the second route from the tunnel and continue down the second route from there. Should the player choose the second half of the first route, the tunnel will turn to the right and coincide with the second route. If the player chooses the route on the left back when the route split in two, however, the player will go downhill and off a ramp while having to dodge sawblades while in midair. Afterward, the player can either enter the first route's tunnel on the left or continue down the road and off the next ramp, which has sawblades awaiting in midair during the jump as well. Should the player choose the route with the sawblades, the route will eventually coincide with the first road.

After the two roads have remerged, the player will enter a road section that runs along the surface of the canyon walls, turning the player's whole perspective ninety degrees. Along this section, the player will get close to the sludge waterfalls. There is also a ramp on the left side of the road in this section, and after it is a sawblade that that can ruin the player's jump off the ramp. Eventually though, the road makes a few turns before heading straight up the canyon wall, and into the forest canyon. Upon entering this section, the road turns to the right, leading straight to the finish line.

Doctor's Mine[1] is a race track that appears in Team Sonic Racing. It is based off Planet Wisp.

Description

Doctor's Mine is a racing circuit set entirely on Planet Wisp, a planet overgrown with lush vegetation and inhabited by Wisps. During the race, one can see a number of Wisp races on the hills around the route, who are watching the races. Near the starting/finishing line, there are also grandstands filled with Chao cheering on the racers.

The course itself is characterized by the dynamic and complex terrain where Eggman's large factory facilities have eroded the beautiful nature of Planet Wisp.[2] This includes waterfalls of purple sludge.

Gameplay

The track is a wide stage where the player does not really have to worry about falling off.[1] Although the road width is wide however, there are also places where the road is broken. As such, it is advised that the player does not let their guard down.[2]

Three-dimensional gimmicks such as tunnels and jumping stands are plentiful in Doctor's Mine, and learning the terrain for speedup maneuvers is the key to victory. Also, the player has to watch out for dangerous gimmicks, such as spinning saw blades, which will inflict damage on the character who touches it.[2] Crabmeats can also be found along the track, which can be destroyed with Wisp power-ups or Power-Type characters. If anyone else besides a Power-Type character collides with a Crabmeat, they will take damage and spin out temporarily. There are also water-covered surfaces along the road that will slow down non-Technique-Type characters.

The circuit begins in a forest canyon. It is very wide here and there are many hills and ramps that the player can jump off of in order to perform stunts. At the end of this open road, the player passes through a gate and enters a sloping metal road that turns sharply to the right along a stone wall. On the right side of the road on the other hand is a water-covered cliff, with Crabmeats scuttling around. After a while, the roads leads down to ground level before making a sharp turn to the left. Additionally, during this leftward swing, there will be railings on the right side that keeps the player from falling off the road. In the next section, the route becomes metallic again and runs along the rock wall on the right. Also, there will again be a water-covered cliff on the right side of this road in this section.

Doctor's Mine also has its own mirror image version of it where the left and right sides are interchanged.

Trivia
