Sonic and the Secret Rings
Dinosaur Jungle is the third World in Sonic and the Secret Rings. It is a lush rainforest filled with Jurassic plants and animals, all much bigger than Sonic. In this World. In some parts, Sonic must surf down rivers using logs, run on dinosaurs' backs and even run from an angry stampede of Triceratops.

Dinosaur Jungle is meant to represent a prehistoric area, thus it has crystal clear waters, bright blue skies, and a lot of rough terrain. There are also several cacti around, probably because game is based off the Arabian Nights. None of the dinosaurs can be killed by Sonic, as most are either used as terrain or obstacles.
Mission 1: Go for the Goal
First, the player will start out running from three angry Triceratops. While running, there will be several Dash Panels, Pearls and Rings along the path. There will also be rocks and spike bushes to slow the player down. Afterward, the player will be drafted into a river with rocks, Pearls and Rings. Eventually, the path will split into two roads. One has several spikes and bridges. There will also be a road blockage and a Rafflesia Djinn. On the other path is a ramp that leads to half spike balls and half springs. There will also be a chest with a Rich Ring and Springs. After that, the two roads will merge again. From there, there will be blocked off areas with two Green Ma Djinns. Continuing on there are spikes and rocks until Sonic reaches a tree with Green Ma Djinns. Here, there are several ledges with a Catapult. Launching off the Catapult will lead to a series of jumps onto a Grind Rail. The player will then go forward across logs until they find a Flying Pot. Afterwards, there will be a bridge with iron balls. The player will then see a Flying Pot, along with a Red Ma Djinn. After the player gets past that, there will be a dinosaur neck; use it as a bridge. After that, the player will encounter spikes and a Rafflesia Djinn. After that, the player must go across another dinosaur. On the other side, there is another log section in a cave with iron ball. The player will afterward enter a cave with a dinosaur trying to eat Sonic. The player will have to get past its tail as well, which leads to a Catapult. After following this path, the player must run while collecting Pearls and Rings. The player will then arrive at the final section which has a Catapult and a quick running section.
Mission 2: Diehard Challenge
In this mission, the player must reach the goal without being defeated. This mission starts out at the second time the player get on the log. This time there are a lot more iron balls in the cave. Also, in the part with the dinosaur that tries to eat Sonic, there will be iron balls instead. Afterward, in the tail section, there will be Green Ma Djinns, Red Ma Djinns and a Rafflesia Djinn. After that, there will be a few more Green Ma Djinns, along with platforming instead of the Catapult section. Also, near the end part, there are thorn bushes.
Mission 3: Collect Rings
In this mission, the player must collect 99 Rings. This mission starts out at the Triceratops part, with some Rich Rings added to the track this time. If the player fails to collect 99 Rings before arriving at the split paths after the raft section, they will fail the mission.
Mission 4: Perfect Challenge
In this mission, the player must take no damage. This mission starts out at the log bridge, with a spike ball spring and a few thorn bushes present. Afterward, along the dinosaur neck, there will be Green Ma Djinns that disappear temporarily. After that, there will be a few thorn bushes, along with two Rafflesia Djinns. The player will then get on a dinosaur tail with thorn bushes and Red Ma Djinns. There will then a iron ball, along with a spring, that changes to a iron ball. At the final stretch, there will be two Red Ma Djinns.
Mission 5: Rampage
In this mission, the player must defeat ten enemies. The player starts out at the split road, except the road on the left will be blocked. The player will thus be forced down the right path where they will fight Rafflesia Djinns and Red Ma Djinns.
Mission 6: Stealth Attack
In this mission, the player must defeat no enemies. The player starts out at the log bridge in Dinosaur Jungle and ends the mission in the giant dinosaur den. The level is improvised with hoops and catapults. There are also Rafflesia Djinns and Red Ma Djinns in this mission.
Mission 7: Head to Head
In this mission, the player has to beat Uhu the Wind Genie to the goal. The player starts out at the log bridge and will end the mission in in the cave. Along the road are now iron balls and chests to slow the player down. Also, in the cave, the player does not raft; they jump from pad to pad.
Mission 8: Chain of Rings
In this mission, the player must get a streak of thirty Rings. The player starts at the log bridge and must collect thirty Rings from there. Unlike the one in Sand Oasis, the player must do it before they reach the goal.
Mission 9: Special Challenge
In this mission, the player must smash five Genie Eggs. The player starts out at the beginning of the loop that will always circle around. When beginning the mission, there will be a ramp that leads to platforms with Red Ma Djinns and a Genie Egg. After that, there will be an area with a Catapult, but just drop down to get the Genie Egg. After that, the player must raft to a split of a Flying Pot, or a path. The path leads to the remaining three Genie Eggs.
Mission 10: Special Challenge
In this mission, the player must collect and place four dinosaur eggs. The player starts out at the same loop as in Mission 9. The eggs are also found in similar places. The egg nests are also scattered across the loop. The patterns, are completely random. Also, if the player runs into an egg, but is already carrying one, they will drop the previous egg they were holding.
Mission 11: Collect Rings
In this mission, the player must collect 99 Rings. The player starts out at the loop in Mission 9. This time, the loop has Red Ma Djinns and more iron balls along it. If the player fails to collect 99 Rings before reaching the end, the player will fail the mission.
Mission 12: No Pearls
In this mission, the player must collect no Pearls. The player must get to the beginning of the level by going around the loop. There are also Pearls and Red Ma Djinns scattered all over the level.
Big can be seen twice in this level in Paragraphs 6 and 9. In Paragraph 6, after running down the dinosaur, the player can brake for a few seconds on the grassy area as they near the flower spirit. They can then see Big holding his head.
In Paragraph 9, when the player gets to the river, they can ride the log into the flying pot. They can then fly as high as they can before jumping and do a homing attack into the spring. The player will automatically jump for a bit and then land on a grassy, circular platform with a genie egg. If the player brakes for a few seconds, they will see Big waving at them under a dinosaur.
- This is one of the very rare cases where dinosaurs appear in the Sonic series.
