Description[]
Appearance[]
The Dimensional Engine is a heavy, metal engine that has a similar color scheme to Metal Sonic v3.0, being blue, silver and yellow.
Features and traits[]
The Dimensional Engine is a powerful engine, capable of allowing Metal Sonic v3.0 to travel across Zones.[2]
History[]
While building the latest version of Metal Sonic, Eggman had Snively bring him the Dimensional Engine, installing it into Metal Sonic so that he may pursue Sonic no matter where he was in the multiverse. Upon being activated, Metal Sonic noticed that Sonic was note present in the Prime Zone, and immediately made use of the Dimensional Engine and teleported away to where he was, angering Eggman because of his disobedience.[2]
Arriving in Moebius, Metal Sonic would confront and battle the various hedgehogs there, including Sonic, Scourge, and Shadow, and eventually teaming up with everyone to fight Scourge. However, when Scourge became Super Scourge, Metal Sonic returned to attacking Sonic, due to assessing that defeating Super Scourge was an impossibility. To get Metal Sonic off of Sonic’s back, Shadow tapped into the Dimensional Engine’s power and teleported the two of them away using Chaos Control.[3]
Shadow and Metal Sonic soon ended up in the Sonic X Zone, more specifically, Earth. Upon arrival, Metal Sonic quickly detected that they were no longer in the Prime Zone, and flew off to track down the resident Doctor Eggman of this world. Meanwhile, Shadow, now stuck without access to the Dimensional Engine, went around with this world's version of Sonic, meeting various new and familiar faces who had known the seemingly dead version of this Zone's Shadow. Eventually, Metal Sonic arrived back to where Shadow was, having teamed up with this Zone's Doctor Eggman, although after a quick farewell to Sonic, Shadow swiftly used Chaos Control once again to teleport himself and Metal Sonic to yet another Zone via tapping into the Dimensional Engine's power.[4]
Arriving in the Sol Zone, Shadow and Metal Sonic fought each other, with Shadow eventually teaming up with Blaze and Marine to battle Metal Sonic. Marine managed to defeat him using a cannon, but this caused the Dimensional Engine to be destroyed alongside Metal Sonic. Shadow was frustrated, telling Marine that the Dimensional Engine was how he got the Sol Zone, and was now stuck. However, Blaze offered him a Chaos Emerald she had with her, allowing Shadow to return to the Prime Zone despite the destruction of the Dimensional Engine.[1]
