History
TV series
Past
The Destroyer was created by Dr. Robotnik and finished in 3224. The doctor used it to take over Mobotropolis. The Destroyer also played an important role in the capture of the King's palace and later the transformation of Mobotropolis into Robotropolis. The Destroyer also destroyed a huge area around the city, transforming it into a wasteland.[2][1] It is unknown what eventually halted the Destroyer's rampage however.
Season two
The Destroyer's history was later drastically altered when Sonic and Sally went back in time in an attempt to stop Dr. Robotnik from coming into power. Like in the original timeline, the Destroyer was completed and helped conquer the King's palace in Mobotropolis.[2] Afterward, Robotnik and Snively sent the Destroyer out to destroy the environment. After transforming Mobotropolis into Robotropolis however, the Destroyer headed towards the Great Forest, something that never happened in the original timeline. With theirs and Knothole Village's existence at stake, Sonic and Sally set out to stop the Destroyer. The heroes eventually managed to catch up with the Destroyer and get onboard it thanks Sonic with the power of a Power Ring. While the Swat-Bots onboard the Destroyer tried to capture the heroes, Sonic locked them inside the ship. Watching the attack on the Destroyer, Robotnik sent some Hover Units out to pacify the intruders. Eventually, however, Sabina arrived, who used her air blast to push the Hover Units into the Destroyer, thereby damaging the Destroyer enough to make it crash and be destroyed before it could do any noticeable damage to the Great Forest.[1]
