The Death Squad[1] is a group that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. They were the elite enforcers of Emerald Hill Zone in an altered reality created by Dr. Robotnik where Sonic the Hedgehog never existed. Led by Oscar the Pig, the Death Squad was mainly composed of unnamed Trooper-like Badniks wielding blasters and metal clubs.
History[]
Robotnik Reigns Supreme[]
In an altered reality where Dr. Robotnik was a god, and Sonic the Hedgehog never existed, the Death Squad served as the brutal enforcers of the Emerald Hill Zone, sent to quell all signs of resistance from it. However, the Death Squad eventually encountered Sonic the Hedgehog, much to Oscar's surprise, as he was the only citizen to not be recorded in his database. Oscar and the Death Squad then attempted to bring Sonic in for interrogation, only for him to destroy all the Badniks in the squad with his speed, leaving Oscar alone and terrified. Robotnik himself soon arrived, and explained the altered reality and Oscar's behavior to Sonic, before teleporting him to a different location. Later, following Sonic's restoration of the original reality, the Death Squad was erased from history, with Oscar the Pig returning to being a member of the Freedom Fighters under the name "Porker Lewis".[1][2]
