Dark Aquatic Chao

Dark Aquatic Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Dark Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance[]

Dark Aquatic Chao share many of the standard Dark Chao traits. They are small creatures with pudding-like bodies, round and waterdrop-like heads with large eyes, no noses, round torsos smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms or feet have digits. They also have a short tail, small wings, and a white floating dot above their heads.

Dark Aquatic Chao have aqua blue skin with black tips on their feet, and their white wings resemble bat/devil wings. They also have white with black sclera, wide smiles with sharp teeth, and thin tails with triangular points akin to the typical devil's tail. The top half of their heads are colored black and they have what resembles a shark fin on top of it.

Overview[]

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Dark Aquatic Chao is a limited collectible pet of the "Legendary" rarity. It could be purchased at a display model in between the cyan and green vending machines in Green Hill for 1,000,000 Rings on 30 April 2022. However, the option to purchase them was removed approximately 48 hours afterwards.

In gameplay, Dark Aquatic Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, Dark Aquatic Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Dark Aquatic Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Dark Aquatic Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Dark Aquatic Chao by collecting five Dark Aquatic Chao, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Dark Aquatic Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Powers and abilities[]

Dark Aquatic Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.

The Dark Aquatic Chao looks very similar to a Chao that appears in issue #36 of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by IDW Publishing.
