DarkCastle Area


DarkCastle Area (ダークキャッスルエリア Dākukyassurueria?) is the fourth and final level of Tails' Skypatrol. As with the other levels of Skypatrol, the plucky fox must simply fly across the level left-to-right, dodging obstacles and maintaining the flight gauge via copious consumption of mint candy.

Description

The level sees Tails pit his rotary abilities against the witch's creepy fortress. There are cannons, enemy robots and frustrating traps all over the place: particularly the self-generating block walls that pop out of nowhere in the interior sections which are deadly. Some of the cityscape backgrounds in DarkCastle Area appear to have been used from Casino Night Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Boss

The woman herself, Witchcart

Witchcart is the boss of DarkCastle Area and final opponent in Tails' Skypatrol. Unlike her henchmen, this insane crone eschews aerial flight and instead races along the tracks in a silver mine cart, hurling an unrelenting stream of energy projectiles and sparks at young Tails. Smack the munitions out of the air with your ring and hit the geriatric madwoman whenever you get the chance.

Success sees Tails haul Witchcart up out of her vehicle and fly away, presumably to deposit the villainous "mage" somewhere she can't do any harm.
