The Dancing Blade is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Dancing Blade's icon takes the form of Blossom Amy's swinging blade leaves pink trail, and two peach blossoms between.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Dancing Blade can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Blossom Amy . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Dancing Blade if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Dancing Blade by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Dancing Blade lets the user do a forward dash, while the user perform the blade swing, that will damage any rival character the user comes into contact with, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. The duration of the Dancing Blade is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Dancing Blade is in effect. In addition, if the Dancing Blade manages to damage a rival character, the user will receive a short speed boost while doing so.
The Dancing Blade can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For level 6, the greater the chance will be that player obtains up to two of the Dancing Blade to use in the Projectile Item slot from a single Item Box. For level 12, however, the Dancing Blade will increase the number of swings performed by the user.
