D3-COY [2] Sonic the Hedgehog seriesDr. Eggman that resembles the doctor himself, and even uses his quotes. D3-COY was deployed at the start of the Starfall Islands incident in order to distract Sonic and his friends while the doctor was carrying out his plans on the islands.
Appearance [ ] Being made with purpose of replacing Dr. Eggman , D3-COY has a similar appearance to him, with the only differences being that it has a gray spring instead of legs, gray shoulders and elbows, and that it does not have his classic pince-nez glasses, instead sporting large, black dots markings above its pink "nose." It also has more mechanized hands.
History [ ] Sonic Frontiers Prologue: Convergence [ ] In Sonic Frontiers Prologue: Convergence , D3-COY, piloting a gigantic Shellcracker -like mech, attacked Amy Rose on a tropical island alongside an army of Badniks . Thinking it was Dr. Eggman , Sonic and Tails joined the battle against the robots. The hedgehog used a Spin Attack in order to destroy its mech, when it turns out it was a fake. Before leaving the island, Tails deduced that this was a distraction and part of a bigger plan.[2]
D3-COY was later mentioned by Orbot when reporting to Eggman that the robot was destroyed by Sonic and his friends.[2]
Powers and abilities [ ] Despite its lack of sentience, D3-COY proved itself an expert in piloting Eggman 's mechs, being able to hold its own against foes like Amy .[2]

In Sonic Heroes Neo Metal Sonic is occasionally seen impersonating a fake Eggman robot that bears a striking resemblance to D3-COY. After the Egg Albatross and Egg Emperor encounters, the doctor is revealed to be fake for the characters' shock.[3] [4]
The quotes used by the D3-COY in combat are quotes used by Dr. Eggman in his previous fights from the mainline games.
