The Cyber Cage is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of prison which can trap beings into Cyber Space, located on the first three Starfall Islands.

Description

Cyber Cages are cages that were formed to trap Amy, Knuckles and Tails within Cyber Space. When Sonic opened them, the cyber corruption inside him started to grow. The cages are transparent red, with spikes sticking out of them, and a leg sticking it to the ground. They look similar to the Oxygen Gauge. There are two horns at the top. Memory Tokens are needed to open them.

History

Sonic Frontiers

At the beginning of Sonic Frontiers, Sonic wakes up in Kronos Island and eventually finds a cage which appears to be trapping Amy. Sonic walks up to it then touches the cage. This causes the cage to be opened which sets Amy free, however bits of cyber energy went into Sonic. Amy ask Sonic if he's ok however Sonic seems to be unaffected and thinks of this as a power boost.

After arriving at Ares Island Sonic finds another cage and unlocks the cage. This frees Knuckles from the cage however more cyber energy enters Sonic and staggers him for a bit. Knuckles questions what just happened however Sonic describes it as a side-effect of the island's energy.

Once Sonic arrives at Chaos Island he finds another cage and realises that Tails is within it. Once the cage is unlocked more cyber energy is released and briefly corrupts Sonic whole. Sage watches from the background while Tails is concerned for Sonic, however he shrugs it off after a few seconds. Tails states that the energies entering Sonic are worrisome for him, but Sonic responds that he's fine. Sage is surprised how he's enduring the cyber corruption. Once Tails leaves Sonic's corruption spreads once again and struggles to stand. Sage states that he will eventually be lost in the end.

When arriving at Rhea Island Sonic is told to "silence the six towers," as Sonic does this his cyber corruption slowly gets worse, Sage watches Sonic slowly get corrupted and once he silences the sixth tower, Sonic's corruption has increased so much he is trapped between Cyber Space and the real world. Sonic's friends are shocked to see this as Doctor Eggman laughs from this. Tails believes that with the visions they saw, they can drive back the corruption and bring Sonic back to reality. Amy and Knuckles agree as they 3 stand around Sonic which causes them to disappear, however Sonic is cured from his cyber corruption.
