The Cyan Laser's icon takes the form of a cyan-colored lightning bolt emitting cyan-colored energy with sparks flying out. In gameplay, it becomes a cyan and fast-moving laser bolt.
In gameplay, the Cyan Laser can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Whisper. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Cyan Laser if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Cyan Laser by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user fires the Cyan Laser's laser bolts; one travels down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user while the other travels in the opposite direction on the same lane as the other laser bolt. Notably, the forward shot travels at a high speed while the backward shot travels slowly. In addition, as both bolts move ahead, they will dissipate if they collide with an obstacle, hit a rival character, or travel too far. Rival characters hit by the Cyan Laser will be stunned, thus causing them to lose Rings and stop moving for a moment, and lose one random power-up in their inventory slots on the HUD. To avoid the Cyan Laser, the player must either jump over it or step out of its lane.
The Cyan Laser can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Cyan Laser.
