The Commando Husk is an enemy that appears in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric. They are a collection of different models of dormant Destruction Troops which can be awakened by Parasite Snakes.
Overview
As mentioned above, the Commando Husks are not an independent model of Destruction Troops, but rather a collection of various other models. This include:
- Blaster Trooper
- Bomber Elite
- Crusher Brute
- Fridge Brute
- Furnace Brute
- Gatling Elite
- Gunslinger Trooper
- Swordsman Trooper
The Commando Husks are only found in a few levels in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric. Commando Husks of weaker enemies appear in groups while the tougher ones are by themselves. They are first encountered in the Abandoned Research Facility.
On their own, the Commando Husk models are harmless and vulnerable as they neither move or attack, though each model retain more or less their respective health amount (i.e. the Commando Husks of Swordsman Troopers take a few hits to destroy while those for Crusher Brutes require several more hits). Should a Parasite Snake come close to a Commando Husk, it will crawl into it and reboot it, thereby giving back the Commando Husk's mobility and attack patterns associated with its model. An advisable strategy is to either destroy the Commando Husks before the Parasite Snakes appear or keep the Parasite Snakes away from them. Even though they are not active, destroying a model of Commando Husk will release the same amount of Rings and Robot Scrap said model would grant.
Trivia
- The Commando Husks' name was not revealed in the final version of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric. However, their name is listed in an unused biography for the game.[1]
