The Comedy Chimp Show is an event that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a television show on Seaside Island, featuring the television personality Comedy Chimp.
Description[]
The Comedy Chimp Show is a late night talk show named after Comedy Chimp,[1][2][3] which is hinted to have been on air for at least twenty years.[4] The show focuses on the host talking with various guest stars and/or discussing local news while telling and performing various jokes and sketches, which can be anything from cliché jokes and lame, often primate-based puns to insults at prominent figures both on and outside the show.[1][4][5][6] While Knuckles the Echidna worked as the host, the show focused more on slapstick comedy, but went back to its roots when Comedy Chimp returned.[4]
The Comedy Chimp Show is normally filmed live in front of a studio audience from Comedy Chimp's private TV studio in the Village Center,[7][8] although there have been "special editions" where the show has been broadcasted from other locations and during the day.[3] The show has also been known to hold raffles where they hand out free prizes to the audience. However, they have a limited prize budget.[8]

History[]
TV Series[]
Season one[]
During the events leading up to Sonic's trial against Dr. Eggman, Comedy Chimp would make jokes about Sonic on his show which incriminated Sonic for the case.[2] In a special edition of the Comedy Chimp Show, live from Dr. Eggman's lair at noon, Comedy Chimp did an interview on his guest, Dr. Eggman, about his success with his tomato sauce. During the show, Eggman revealed his plans to conquer the Village with his robotic sauce cans and took control of the Comedy Chimp Show to present his own brand of entertainment until Team Sonic stopped him.[3]
While the Comedy Chimp Show covered Knuckles' rise to fame, Comedy Chimp had to take a leave of absence and had Knuckles cover him. Though Knuckles struggled, his tomfoolery on the show was a hit. The network thus made Knuckles the new host and took the show in a new direction. As Eggman attacked the show though, orchestrated by Comedy Chimp to regain his job, Knuckles quit to rejoin Team Sonic. Comedy Chimp then retook his job, and, as a part of an agreement, allowed Eggman Industries to sponsor the show for the time being.[4] Continuing on as normal, the Comedy Chimp Show would later cover Soar the Eagle and his new book, Counter Productive, inspiring a certain viewer.[10]
Season two[]
Movie actor Tommy Thunder eventually made a new appearance on the Comedy Chimp Show where he and Comedy Chimp elaborated on Tommy's "capture" of the Weasel Bandits. During the show though, Tommy made the mistake of calling Eggman out on TV.[11] The Comedy Chimp Show would later make light of the Unnamed Village's diminishing water supply by telling humorous jokes about it.[12] A robot named Dreamcaster later used the Comedy Chimp Show's studio a few time to broadcasts its hypnotic powers to the villagers. When Sticks tried to stop it, the studio got trashed, leading to Sticks getting arrested for vandalism.[7]
The staff of the Comedy Chimp Show eventually tried getting free TVs from Stuff Mart for the next show's raffle (which would feature a DJ), but instead had to settle with one small prize. Because most of the prize budget went to the lawyer of Comedy Chimp's ex-wife though, they could only afford a lamp, which Knuckles would win.[8] The Comedy Chimp Show would continue its broadcasts afterwards, although one episode got interrupted temporarily by a power outage.[13] A while later, the Comedy Chimp Show had the local bowling celebrities over as guests for the show's next few episodes. The first of these were the Lightning Bowler Society, and the second were the Weasel Bandits, who ended up causing a ruckus.[9] On the next known edition of the Comedy Chimp Show, Comedy Chimp had Justin Beaver over as a TV guest, whom he made a fool out of after hearing of Justin's new job. Another edition of the show aired shortly thereafter, which featuring Comedy Chimp using Wolf Sidekick as the target for pie jokes.[6]
Archie Comics[]
Boom Shaka-laka[]
When Dr. Eggman held his Eggtoberfest to buy the villagers' trust, the Comedy Chimp Show would make fun of the doctor's obvious attempt with Comedy Chimp at the helm, inadvertently provoking Eggman into attacking the villagers.[5] The show later hired Kyle the Gorilla for its new "Slapstick Gorilla" sketches, where Kyle's natural clumsiness proved a hit with the audience.[14]
