The Clucker[1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, chicken-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman, and the counterpart of the Clucker from an alternate dimension set in the recent past.

Based on chickens, the Cluckers have a white upper body, while their lower body is hidden inside their turret. They also have red wattle/tail feathers, eyes with a strict stare, a small yellow beak, two antennas connected to the sides of their heads by grey bases, and two small wings for steering their turret. The turrets themselves have a small gray cannon on the front. The lower sections of their turrets, however, are a part of the environment.

In Sonic Mania Plus' Encore Mode, Cluckers look the same, except that their turrets are Argentine blue-colored instead of orange.

In Sonic Mania, and its expansion Sonic Mania Plus, Cluckers are enemies found in Flying Battery Zone Act 2. Their turrets may be found attached to the floor, or on floating platforms. In gameplay, Cluckers are not seen inside their turrets until the player gets close, upon where they will pop out of their turrets and aim them. A second afterwards, the Cluckers will shoot straight lines of rotating, egg-shaped bullets in the player's direction. These projectiles can be deflected by using Shield-derived power-ups or through Mighty's Spin Attack. However, they can only fire one bullet at a time. If the player turns to the other direction, the Cluckers will do so as well.

The player is able to destroy Cluckers by attacking them with a Spin Attack-related move. Upon their destruction, they will release an Animal and award the player with 100 points.

Powers and abilities

With their turrets, Cluckers are able to fire projectiles.
