The Claw Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Claw Boost's icon takes the form of a red and yellow Chinese dragon claw (of which Dragonclaw Tails' gloves are modeled on) that is being trailed by a fiery yellow aura. In gameplay, this power-up becomes yellow sparkles and thunderbolts that surrounds the player.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Claw Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Dragonclaw Tails .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Claw Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Claw Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. Dragonclaw Tails will also start running on all fours when using this power-up. The duration of the Claw Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Claw Boost is in effect. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Claw Boost is in effect will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily.
The Claw Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Claw Boost will last longer.
