The Circus is a mini-game that appears exclusively in the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World. In the Circus, the player launches characters into the air in order to pop as many balloons as possible and collect as many Rings as possible. Yellow and red tents become revealed on the map, signifying a circus. As the player completes them, they disappear. More Circuses can be unlocked by collecting Red Star Rings.
Gameplay
The object of the Circus is to launch Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower from either a cannon, trampoline, or seesaw, depending on the Zone the Circus is in, to pop balloons containing Rings and Animals that are needed to unlock new levels.
If the player uses the cannon, they simply tap the screen to shoot the character into the air. If using the trampoline, a character must be bounced toward the balloons; and if using the seesaw, one character must fall on the opposite end to launch the other into the air. However, if a character misses, they disappear, and if both characters disappear, the Circus ends and they lose a life.
