Chrysaor (クリサオル, Kurisaoru^?) is an item that appears in Sonic and the Black Knight. It is an unlockable weapon that can be equipped to and wielded by Sir Gawain.

Description

Chrysaor is a pair of identical weapons that resemble a single bit battleaxe. Each weapon has a straight greenish gray grib with a bulb as a sword pommel. Above each grip, Chrysaor has a metallic bar decorated so it looks like it has been wrapped up in a scaly rope. The back of each bar on the weapons have a single metallic leaf hanging near the top, and the front of them is attached to a golden curved cutting edge through two metallic plant-like sterms.

Surge Rescue+1	Soul Gauge increased based upon 'hit count.'
Ring Rescue	Rings increase based upon 'hit count.'
Aegis Guard+1	Increases the duration of a guard.
Lunge Attack	Move forward and flick the Wii Remote to Lunge Attack.
Aerial Attack	Move back and flick the Wii Remote to Aerial Attack.
Lunge Spread	Increases the attack area of a Lunge Attack.
Aerial Spread	Increases the attack area of an Aerial Attack.
Attack Spread+1	Increases the attack area of ground attacks.
Air Attack Spread+1	Increases the attack area of midair attacks.
Perfect Guard	Guard with just the right timing.
Easy Perfect Guard	Increases the time of Perfect Guard.
Attack Step	Attack becomes possible when using a short jump.
Shield Break+1	Shields become easier to break.
Soul Surge	Press the B button when there is energy in the Soul Gauge.

Etymology

Chrysaor is a character who appears in Greek mythology. Chrysaor is the brother of Pegasus and is often depicted as a young man, he is the child of Poseidon and Medusa.

Chrysaor's name in Greek translates into English as "He who has a golden sword," fitting in with the color of the weapon's blade in the game.
