Christopher Stephen Welch is a Canadian actor who has done voice work for the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series.
History[]
As a child, Welch appeared in many television commercials. At the age of 10, he auditioned for the voice of Tails in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, landing his first and only voice acting job. He was replaced in the Sonic Christmas Blast TV special by Chris Turner due to his changing voice. Welch stopped acting at the age of 13, and is now a sales representative for a food distributor in Vancouver.[1]

Trivia[]
- Christopher Welch never worked directly alongside Jaleel White, the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, due to Jaleel's commitments with school and Family Matters. However, he did work alongside Long John Baldry, Gary Chalk and Phil Hayes, the voices of Robotnik, Grounder and Scratch respectively. [citation needed]
- Jaleel is only seven years older than Christopher, mimicking the big brother and little brother relation of the characters they were preforming at the time.
- Interestingly, the next "Christopher" related to Sonic the Hedgehog series that came after Welch and Turner was Christopher Thorndyke from Sonic X, a 12 year-old, human boy who wanted to be Sonic's best friend. Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic X were both animated by TMS Entertainment.
