The Choc Lock is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Trap Item used primarily to obstruct opposing rivals' path.
Description[]
The Choc Lock's icon takes the form of a red heart box and is wrapped by a yellow bow. White and orange-outline sprinkles surround the box. In gameplay, the Choc Lock spawns red heart-shape boxes down the track.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Choc Lock can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Valentine Rouge. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Choc Lock if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Choc Lock by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Choc Lock will spawn red heart-shape boxes some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. If a character, including the user themselves, touches one of these boxes, they will explode and damage the character, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, any player who hits the Choc Lock will be blocked by the item slots on the bottom of the HUD by heart chocolates for a short time. They can restore them quicker by tapping on each chocolate in item slots which takes away half of them (Officially restore every item slot by a couple of taps on it). To avoid the Choc Lock, the playable character must either jump over its chocolate boxes or run in-between them.
The Choc Lock can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the Choc Lock will increased the damage dealt.
