The chili dog is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and its spin-offs. It is an accessorized hot dog consumed on Earth.
Description[]
Sonic the Hedgehog's favorite snack, the chili dog is a hot dog served in a bun and topped with chili. It is occasionally complimented with additional toppings, such as mustard, cheese, spices and onions. A side-effect would give a person some flatulence.

After starting a bar fight in the Piston Pit, Sonic discovered a platter with half a dozen chili dogs while running around at super speed, and chowed them down. Sonic would later let Tom know about his discovery at their motel room, having a laugh at Tom's annoyance from his fart.

In Seattle, Sonic ate a chili dog before setting off to stop a group of bank robbers. Much later near the end, after Super Sonic defeated Dr. Robotnik in his Giant Eggman Robot, the hedgehog conjured two chili dogs using his powers, one for himself and one for Knuckles. However, Knuckles' chili dog fell on his face, with the frank being split in half upon his eyes in tandem with the chili, and the bun falling down upon his head on its own a bit later.

While at home, Sonic would enjoy some chili dogs when he heard on the news that a bank robbery was in progress at the first bank of Walla Walla, Washington, which prompted him to unceremoniously discard his chili dogs in favor of heading out to stop the bank robbery.[1]

Trivia[]
- Sonic the Hedgehog's fondness for chili dogs is something that originates in western territories, first established in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. Even before that, the earliest canon reference to Sonic's enjoyment of hot dogs, rather than the more specific chili dogs, was in Sonic the Comic #5, where Sonic is having three hundred hot dogs as a part of his breakfast. In the years since, the chili dog has been established as Sonic's favorite food in just about every Sonic-related media, eventually making its way into the games' canon as well.
