Charge Master[1] (イノブタメカ[2] Ino Buta Meka?, lit. "Pig-Boar Mecha") is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Master Robot created by Dr. Robotnik, who used it during the Master Robot incident.
Appearance[]
Charge Master is a Master Robot based on a boar. In terms of design, it is almost hemispherical in shape, with a pig snout, two completely white eyes, and two gray fangs at the front. It also has triangular ears and a series of spikes along its waist. In addition, it is equipped with two black wheels to facilitate movement on the ground and has an exhaust pipe at the rear.
History[]
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit)[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit), Dr. Robotnik created Charge Master to destroy Sonic once and for all in Gimmick Mountain Zone. However, Sonic destroyed the robot upon finding it.
Powers and abilities[]
Charge Master is capable of moving at high speeds thanks to the momentum it takes from its wheels and its exhaust pipe. As an added detail, its beaks are deadly to anyone who touches them.
Weaknesses[]
If Charge Master makes a high impact collision on a wall, its spikes will drive into its body, leaving it vulnerable to attack. However, it is able to quickly recover and pull out its set of spikes.
Battle[]
Charge Master is the Master Robot of Gimmick Mountain Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (8-bit) and the fifth boss overall in the game. The player faces it as Sonic the Hedgehog.
Boss guide[]
The battle takes place on a small flat field. During the fight, Charge Master will charge from one edge of the screen to the other. After hitting the edge, it will be stunned and its spikes will hide. At that moment, the player can attack it by jumping on its back. During the collision with the wall, however, three rocks will fall from the ceiling. They can fall to the part of the arena where the robot is, or to the opposite side. When attacking Charge Master, the player will need to watch out for falling stones.
After eight hits, the boss will be destroyed. The player can then destroy the Prison Egg and proceed to the next Zone.
