It also has one gray missile launcher at the extremity of each of its two bolted arms and red-bolted dropping holes on its back. It also has ventilation holes on the sides of its head and on its arms' missile launchers. Also, the bolted parts of its arms (including the shoulders) are colored red.

Powers and abilities

The mech is capable of space flight with the aid of its rocket thrusters. In terms of offensive capabilities, it can fire missiles from its missile launchers and drop mines from the holes on its back.

History

Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure

In Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure, Dr. Eggman entered this mech in space when he fled the Last Utopia Zone. Soon after, Sonic showed up in his Super State, and Eggman engaged Sonic with his mech. In spite of Eggman's efforts though, his mech got destroyed by Sonic in the end. As his mech fell apart around him, Eggman was left in his Egg Mobile, begging for Sonic to show mercy. Ignoring Eggman, Sonic dashed through Eggman's Egg Mobile, leaving a panicking Eggman to crash down to earth.

Battle

The Chaotic Space Zone boss is the true final boss of Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure. It is fought in Chaotic Space Zone with Super Sonic after defeating the Last Utopia Zone boss while in possession of all seven Chaos Emeralds.

Boss guide

When the player arrives in Chaotic Space Zone, Dr. Eggman can be seen entering his mech with his Egg Mobile. Afterward, the head of the mech will cover Eggman, initiating the boss battle. As with most battles involving Super Sonic, Super Sonic begins the battle with fifty Rings that continually deplete: if the player's Ring count hits zero, Sonic will revert back to normal and fall to his doom, resulting in the player losing a try. However, the player can replenish their Ring count by picking up the Rings that have been laid out throughout the Zone. In addition, Super Sonic can perform a midair dash when A Button (Sega Genesis)/B Button (Sega Genesis) is pressed.

During the battle, Eggman's mech will flee to the right while moving up and down, forcing the player to chase after him. Eggman will periodically attack using his missile launchers that can shoot in three directions. He will also periodically attack using flashing mines that will scatter around the arena from his back. Any of these attacks cannot harm Super Sonic, but they can stun him, thereby costing the player a lot of valuable time.

To defeat this boss, the player has to hit Eggman's mech eight times. Since charging into Eggman will only knock the player backwards however, the player have to knock the missiles Eggman is launching back at him in order to damage him. To do this, the player has to smack the missiles with the dash move to send them flying back toward Eggman's mech.

After dealing eight hits, Super Sonic will come closer to watch the Chaotic Space Zone boss blow up and fall apart around Eggman. Left with only his Egg Mobile, Eggman will beg Sonic to show mercy. Immediately after, Sonic dashes through Eggman, leaving behind a panicking doctor in his exploding Egg Mobile as he falls down to earth, clearing the game. After that, the game's good ending will play.

Trivia

  • The theme music the Chaotic Space Zone boss uses is the Sky Sanctuary Zone theme from Sonic & Knuckles.
  • The boss is quite similar to the Doomsday Zone boss (although physically it have rockets instead of legs, faces leftward toward Super Sonic instead of rightward and have missile launchers instead of hands). The way to defeat the previous boss is quite different however than this one, with the former needing to be hit directly by Sonic instead of having its missiles reflected towards it, having a first phase absent from the Chaotic Space Zone boss and avoidable asteroids that aren't present in the Chaotic Space Zone unlike the Doomsday Zone.
