Chaos Shift is a chaos power that is appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a move used by Shadow the Hedgehog that allows him to dash through fast moving obstacles.
Description[]
When activating the Chaos Shift, time slows down, and Shadow becomes frozen in place. A small crosshair will appear on the screen, and aiming it in a specific direction will cause Shadow to dash that way. It can later be upgraded using the Double Chaos Shift, allowing the player to use it more than once.
Overview[]
In Sonic Dream Team, the Chaos Shift is one of two abilities Shadow gains upon reacquiring the green Chaos Emerald. By pressing 
/
, Shadow freezes in place as time slows down. A small indicator will appear, allowing the player to aim in any direction. When / is pressed again, Shadow will dash toward the targeted area. It can also be used on Chaos Warps to instantly traverse short distances.

- This move is similar to Doom Blast from Shadow Generations, except an enemy is not required to aim it.
- When used to travel through Chaos Warps, it works like the quick travel gimmick from Shadow Generations, Chaos Dash, with the warp even appearing as a green orb.
