— Chaos Shadow, Sonic Universe #62.

Chaos Shadow is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an exclusive form of Shadow the Hedgehog's, achieved when he removes the Inhibitor Rings around his wrists. By doing so, he gains unlimited Chaos energy.

Appearance[]

When turning into Chaos Shadow, Shadow's body gains a reddish-yellow hue and a flaming red and yellow energy aura due to the massive amounts of energy that is released. Otherwise, his physical proportions remain largely unchanged.

History[]

Shattered World Crisis[]

Act One[]

Note: From the readers point of view, this picks up from where Chaos Shadow's original timeline ended.

During his mission to the New Black Comet. Shadow underwent this transformation in battle against Black Death. After a brief confrontation, Shadow succeeded in destroying his adversary using his Chaos Blast attack.[1]

Powers and abilities[]

In this form, Shadow can tap into an unlimited supply of Chaos energy, turning him into a dynamo of raw, uncontrollable power. This increases all of Shadow's abilities to the point where he could easily overpower Black Death, deflecting all of his attacks through his sheer energy output, and incinerate him with a single Chaos Blast.
