The Chaos Emerald of Immortality[1] is an object that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is one of the four magical Chaos Emeralds, which was sought by Dr. Ivo Robotnik during the Quest for the Chaos Emeralds saga.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Chaos Emerald of Immortality looks like a circle-shaped green gem. It is also small enough to fit in the palm of Dr. Robotnik's hand.[1][2]
Powers and traits[]
The Chaos Emerald of Immortality grants its wearer the ability to live forever. Additionally, physical damage inflicted upon the wearer is rendered ineffective by either healing any wounds up instantly or negating them completely. However, its power can be countered with a special blue Emerald that that grants its wielder an energy shield that negates the Chaos Emerald's power.[1]
Like the other three Chaos Emeralds, the Chaos Emerald of Immortality holds an incredible amount of power. When combined with the other three Emeralds, the Chaos Emerald of Invincibility can provide the wielder with enough power to conquer the entire universe.[3] However, the effects will wear off if the user loses possession of the Chaos Emeralds.[2]
History[]
TV series[]
Season one[]
The Chaos Emerald of Immortality was kept in the Pyramid of Mobigypt millennia ago. There, it was worn by the entombed Robotnikhotep. In his attempt to get the Chaos Emerald, Dr. Ivo Robotnik traveled to ancient Mobigypt to retrieve it for himself. However, when he was about to get the Chaos Emerald, Sonic the Hedgehog woke up Robotnikhotep, which resulted in a fight between the two. However, despite the Chaos Emerald of Immortality healing up any wounds he received from Sonic, Robotnikhotep was still beaten by Sonic with the help of the Mummified Hedgehog. Robotnik then took the Chaos Emerald of Immortality for himself, and had a fight with Sonic and the Mummified Hedgehog. However, he was defeated too and lost the Chaos Emerald of Immortality.[1]
After stealing the other three Chaos Emeralds, Robotnik returned to ancient Mobigypt at an earlier point of time, where he took the Chaos Emerald of Immortality from Robotnikhotep and escaped.[2]
Uniting the four Chaos Emeralds in his own era, Robotnik transformed into the Supreme High Robotnik. However, he was defeated by Sonic and Tails when the two recruited several past versions of themselves from across time to help them take down Robotnik. Afterward, the Chaos Emerald of Immortality, along with the other Chaos Emeralds, were returned to their rightful places in time.[2]
