The Chaos Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Chaos Boost's icon takes the form of a red blast aura, leaving the red ring trail behind in its wake.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Chaos Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Warrior Shadow .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Chaos Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Chaos Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Chaos Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Chaos Boost is in effect. However, the Chaos Boost will end prematurely if the user collides with an obstacle while using the Lightning Boost. Similar to Chaos Charge , the Chaos Boost allows the user to fly in the air while the Chaos Boost is activating. In addition, if the user swipes down while flying from the Chaos Boost activate, they will make a red flame explosion in the track, which affects the same and adjacent lanes. Any rival character who makes contact with that explosion will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily.
The Chaos Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Chaos Boost will last longer.
