The Chaos Blast is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile item primarily used to attack rivals.

Description[]

The Chaos Blast's icon takes the form of a bright orange sphere emitting a red aura. In gameplay, this power-up becomes an orange sphere that surrounds the user.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Chaos Blast can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Movie Super Shadow. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Chaos Blast if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Chaos Blast by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. While active, the Chaos Blast will increase the user's speed slightly. In addition, the Chaos Blast has a time limit. The duration of the Chaos Blast is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Chaos Blast is in effect. Any rival character who makes contact with the user or runs close by on lanes adjacent to the user while the Chaos Blast is in effect will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily.
