Chaos 4 is the fourth form of Chaos and a boss that appears in the Sega Dreamcast video game, Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut. It is fought near the lake in the Mystic Ruins.

Appearance

Chaos changes considerably after absorbing four Chaos Emeralds. It is now a huge shark-like creature with razor like fins. The third and fourth Chaos Emeralds absorbed are now located in its belly. It fights Sonic, Tails and Knuckles in a small pond in the Mystic Ruins, but is defeated.

Powers and abilities

Chaos has now new powers, that includes being able to fire energy waves, swimming at high speeds, creating water explosions by slamming his body on water, and turning into four balls that bounce toward the player. If Chaos 4 is out of water it simply floats in the air. Chaos also can launch an extendable arm, charged by energy to the opponent as well.

History

Big the Cat encounters Chaos 4 on the Egg Carrier just before it transformed into Chaos 6. Interestingly, even though Chaos' tail is absorbed by Froggy at the time being, Chaos 4 still sports a tail in which he can use for attack, so it may actually have two tails.

Chaos 4 in Sonic X.

Chaos 4 first appeared in "A Chaotic Day" in Sonic X. In this media, Dr. Eggman tricked Sonic and Tails to search for a Chaos Emerald, only to drop in and steal their Chaos Emeralds. After a brief battle with Eggman's Egg Hornet, Eggman gave the two Emeralds to Chaos 2 in a nearby lake, transforming it into Chaos 4. Chaos 4 attacked Sonic and Tails with energy waves, forcing Sonic to fight back. However, because Chaos 4 was in its right element, it could evade Sonic by diving underwater and use the lake's water against him as tornadoes, and even Sonic's regular attacks did little to stop it. As Sonic and Chaos 4 went for fighting close up, Chaos 4 kept dunking Sonic, until Sonic used a strong wind to charge at Chaos 4 at full speed, damaging it enough to make it unable to reform. Upset, Eggman retrieves Chaos and fled.
