The Champions Chariot is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Champions Chariot's icon takes form of a wood of chariot, leaves the yellow trail in its wake, both as an icon and on the track.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Champions Chariot can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Gladiator Knuckles .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Champions Chariot by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Champions Chariot will stop the user for about a half second, then will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Champions Chariot is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Champions Chariot is in effect. Any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Champions Chariot is in effect will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. However, getting damaged while the Champions Chariot is in effect will end the power-up prematurely.
The Champions Chariot can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8, 14 and 20 respectively. If the user upgrade to level 2, 8 and 20, the Champions Chariot will last longer; while in level 14 will increase the Champions Chariot's speed.
