Catcher Eggman is the boss of the Casino Night Zone, the fourth level of the game Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive.
Appearance
Catcher Eggman is similar to a stylish-UFO Egg Mobile. It has yellow leg-like claws on the bottom, has mutiple colors of red, blue, yellow, and grey on the top and on the torso, and is grey on the torso.
Battle
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
The boss battle takes place in an enclosed area with two sets of pinball flippers. The boss itself is Doctor Robotnik in his Eggmobile, which floats back and forth across the area. The bottom of the Eggmobile drops red, spiked balls that release two small purple balls on impact. While not dropping mines, the bottom of the Eggmobile is protected by a field of electricity. In order for one to defeat Catcher Eggman, one must either use the flippers to launch Sonic in the air and land on top of Eggman, or use Spin Dash and move up one of the walls and land on top of Eggman, but this only works with Spin Dash because you will lose rings if not using Spin Dash.
Like the other Eggmobiles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Catcher Eggman takes eight hits to defeat. After this, the player can open up the Egg Capsule and end the Zone.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1
Catcher Eggman returns on Sonic 4: Episode 1 as the second boss in the Casino Street Zone with a new attack that allows Dr. Eggman to put a shield on top of him and his mech and then he will spin around the screen and when shielded, contact with the mech will result in losing all your rings.
