— Carrottia, Sonic the Hedgehog: Tails' 30th Anniversary Special

Carrottia[1] (キャロッティア[2] Kyarottia?) is an antagonist that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic rabbit and one of the three henchmen of Witchcart.

History[]

Games[]

Tails' Skypatrol[]

Along with Hocke-Wulf and Bearenger, Carrottia was one of three henchmen of Witchcart, the villain of the game, who was threatening to transform inhabitants of the island into crystals. She was defeated by Miles "Tails" Prower.

Personality[]

Flirty and doe-eyed, she launches homing carrot missiles and disorienting kisses from her flying carrot.

— Description, Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia

Carrottia has been described as flirty and doe-eyed.[1]

In the IDW comics, she is quite lackadaisical, hating to do work and not even taking battle seriously, showing a complete lack of interest while fighting Tails. Carrottia is so disinterested in her job, she does not even care when Tails traps her in a pit, taking the opportunity to get some sleep. She can also be pretty moody in the event that someone does force her to do more work, and seeks retribution against people who do. Despite her laziness, Carrottia fears her boss, Witchcart, and will quickly obey her orders when she gets angry. Carrottia can also be sarcastic, as seen when she teased Hocke-Wulf about getting a metaphor wrong.[3]

Relationships[]

Friends/allies[]

Enemies[]

Battle[]

Carrottia appears at the end of Metal Island, riding around in a flying vehicle resembling a carrot.

Boss guide[]

During the battle, Carrottia has two types of attacks. One is where she crossfires small carrot-shaped homing missiles, which Tails can dispatch with his Boomering, rewarding a hundred points each. The second attack is where she blows kisses at Tails, which the player can knock away with Tails' Boomering. Getting hit by either attack will stun Tails. Unlike Witchcart's other henchmen, Carrottia is too fast to be caught and thus cannot be tossed by Tails' Boomering, forcing the player to land twenty hits with the Boomering to defeat Carrottia.

Carrottia - Tails' 30th Anniversary

Carrottia, from Sonic the Hedgehog: Tails' 30th Anniversary Special.

Carrottia would come to Flicky Island with Witchcart and the other Witchcarters. They then conquered the island and Witchcart put them to work capturing the island's Flickies so Witchcart could use them for her diabolical plans. However, Tails and Sonic would also come to Flicky Island on vacation and find out what they were up to. Sonic impulsively went to battle the Witchcarters and overwhelmed them, but was captured when Witchcart zapped him from behind with her wand, trapping him in a crystal.

She then ordered Carrottia and her cohorts to get back to work. The Witchcarters then split up and Carrottia went to Rusty Ruins in her flying, carrot-like vehicle and continued capturing Flickies, though Tails came to stop her. Tails snuck up behind her vehicle and removed one of the missile launchers, but Carrottia noticed him and fired all her remaining missiles at him. However, all her missiles missed and created a smokescreen, providing cover for Tails to hide in.

All the Flickies then flew around, silhouetted by the smoke, leaving Carrottia unable to tell which one was Tails. While Carrottia was distracted, Tails then flew behind her and pulled some wires out of her vehicle, causing it to stop functioning and fall into a pit. Trapped, Carrottia then gave up and went to sleep.[3]

Trivia[]

  • Carrottia's name is derived from "carrot", a vegetable that rabbits are famously known to eat in pop culture thanks to cartoons.
  • In the Japanese box artwork for Tails' Skypatrol, not only is her bow incorrectly colored red instead of pink, but her ears are also incorrectly colored red to match her bow, making it appear as if they are part of the bow itself. Her carrot-shaped vehicle also looks more like a realistic carrot.
  • In IDW Publishing, Carrottia's dress was inspired by the one worn by Patty, a character in the Shogakukan Sonic the Hedgehog series.
