Awww. Who's a little cluster-wuster? I'm gonna name him Buster!

Sticks the Badger, "Buster"

Buster,[1] also known as Cluster Bot,[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a Slime Bot created by Dr. Eggman as a sleeper agent to be implemented amongst the ranks of Team Sonic. It was briefly adopted by Sticks the Badger as her pet, who managed to turn him against his creator.

Buster's default appearance, from "Buster".

Buster is a head-sized, dog-shaped robot who outwardly appears poorly made. He has a pink and yellow lunchbox for body, four suction cups for feet and a winding handle for tail. He also possesses regular door handles for ears, a burn-out bulb for nose and green eyes with slightly darker green irises.

When transformed, Buster grows to almost twice the size of Eggman's height, his feet retract into his body and are replaced by eight tentacles coming out of his sides, and his eyes turn bright red (while he is under Eggman's influence).

Season one

Buster and Sticks, from "Buster".

Created by Dr. Eggman, Buster was meant to be used against Team Sonic when they sought a pet for Sticks. Left to be discovered by Sticks, she found him in a trash can near tbe local pet store. Sticks quickly took an instant liking to him and adopted him, giving him the name "Buster", although her friends were repulsed by him due to the slime he left all over the place and his energetic extroverted personality. Over the next week, Buster would mess up Team Sonic's daily lives, eventually ruined their attempt to stop a robbery made by Orbot and Cubot. When Team Sonic failed to make Sticks give up Buster, Eggman visited and gave Buster a mechanical bone, claiming it to be a gift. However, the bone turned Buster into a large mechanical monster when he ate it. One by one, Buster caught Team Sonic until Sticks reestablished his loyalty to her and began scolding him for his behavior. Overcoming Eggman's programming, Buster returned to Sticks' side, who had him release her friends and get rid of Eggman. After then returning to normal by regurgitating Eggman's bone, Buster was sent away by Sticks since he was too dangerous.[1]

Buster has all the behavioral patterns of a real dog. He is energetic and affectionate, though this comes off as annoying to other people. He is as well incredible loyal to Sticks, so much that he overcame Eggman's own programming and left Sticks to wander the world alone upon her orders despite his attachment to her.[1]

Powers and abilities

In his normal form, Buster does not have any special powers or abilities. However, he can constantly excrete green slime as saliva and perspiration.[1]

Buster when transformed, "Buster".

After transforming from eating Eggman's nanotech bone, Buster grows several times his own size and gains drastically increased power and speed, so much that Sonic could not defeat him alone. In his transformed state, Buster gains several flexible and powerful tentacles which can regenerate should they be cut off. If the nanotech bone leaves Buster's body though, he reverts back to normal.[1]

As an Eggman robot, Buster is also able to receive power remotely from Eggman's lair.[2]

Being an Eggman robot, Buster relies on Eggman's lair to provide him with power. As such, should the lair run out of power, then he will too.[2]

  • Despite being a robot, Buster is able to eat both organic and inorganic food.[1]
