Burning Blaze is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is Blaze the Cat's super form, achieved by absorbing the power of the seven Sol Emeralds.
Appearance[]
Following her transformation, Blaze's physical proportions remain unchanged, though the lavender parts of her fur has turned pink and the purple parts of her fur has turned red. Additionally, her attire has also undergone a change, with the purple on her tailcoat having turned red and its bottom rim having become golden, and the cuffs on her gloves and shoes changing to magenta.
History[]
Past transformations[]
Blaze is first known to have transformed into Burning Blaze during confrontations with Dr. Eggman and Eggman Nega, in which she fought alongside Super Sonic to stop the villainous scientists.[1][2]
Pirate Plunder Panic[]
Blaze would later use this transformation again while facing Captain Metal aboard his Egg O' War. Having recovered all seven Sol Emeralds and transformed, she used her new powers to melt Captain Metal. The robot managed to transfer his consciousness into the Egg O' War, but Burning Blaze proved more than a match for the battleship. After burning an escape route for her friends in Team Rose, she took out the ship's Genesis Reactor before flying outside and shooting a massive fire blast through the craft and sinking it. She then rejoined he friends and reverted back to her normal form.[3]
Powers and abilities[]
As Burning Blaze, all of Blaze's innate talents are vastly increased, giving her highly increased strength, speed and reflexes. In addition, she gains the power of flight and is presumably invulnerable to virtually any harm.[4]
In her super form, Blaze's pyrokinetic abilities has been greatly enhanced; she can melt and incinerate metal alloys easily, increases her temperatures to incredible levels and fire a colossal beam of flames from her hands that is powerful enough to blast a large hole through the Egg O' War. She can also perform a technique called the Burning Fire Boost, where she shoot herself forward as a large and powerful column of fire.
Trivia[]
- Burning Blaze has never appeared in the pre-Super Genesis Wave timeline. However, Sonic the Hedgehog: The Complete Sonic Comic Encyclopedia confirmed that the form did still exist in the old timeline (or at least would have existed).
- Unlike her game counterpart, the highlights on the top of her ponytail are not removed when she transforms.
