Description	Vector blows a bubble while Espio and Charmy holds onto him, allowing the team to float in the air.

Bubblegum Descent (風船ガム落下, Fūsen gamu rakka^?, lit. "Bubblegum Fall") is a Power Formation maneuver used by Team Chaotix in Sonic Heroes. When performing this move, Espio the Chameleon and Charmy Bee hold onto Vector the Crocodile, who blows a large bubblegum bubble that lets them drift through midair or reach higher areas by utilizing vertical drafts.

Description

When performing the Bubblegum Descent, Vector inflates a massive purple balloon-bubble made of bubblegum while in midair which slows his own descend by catching the air beneath him. Meanwhile, Espio grabs onto the back of Vector's gold chain and Charmy holds onto the foot of Vector's tail, thus riding on him. While descending, Vector gives off a green aura.

While using the Bubblegum Descent, the player is able to greatly slow his/hers descend through midair and as well slowly move in all directions, similar to Glide. Also, in areas with vertical drafts (e.g. fans), the player is able to catch the upward draft generated at these places and ascend to higher sections by using the Bubblegum Descent above the source of these updrafts.

To perform the Bubblegum Descent in gameplay, Team Chaotix has to be in Power Formation with Vector as the leader. The player must then press and hold down the jump button (//) while jumping or in midair, and can as well use the control stick to move in different directions. To break the Bubblegum Descent, the player has to release the jump button.

Trivia

• This move is referenced in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and Sonic Generations.
  • In the Rocket Ski Jump event, Vector uses an ability called Gum Balloon to accelerate. This move is very similar to the Bubblegum Descent except that the bubble is transparent this time.
  • In the Challenge Act Vector: Pick Up the Beat, Vector blows up his bubble gum and lets it collide with a music note to create a small shockwave.
