The Bubble Bomb is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Trap Item used primarily to obstruct opposing rivals' path.
Description[]
The Bubble Bomb takes the form of magenta bubblegum puddles splatted on the ground that emit bubbles, both as an icon and on the tracks.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Bubble Bomb can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Vector. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Bubble Bomb if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Bubble Bomb by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Bubble Bomb will drop its bubblegum puddles some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. If a playable character, including the user themselves, touches one of these bubblegum puddles, it will damage the character, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, the player's screen will be obstructed by pink bubbles, thereby preventing them from using power-ups in the Item slots on the bottom of the HUD. This power-up lasts for a short time, but it can be ended prematurely by tapping the Bubble Bomb's pink bubbles on the screen to make them pop. To avoid the Bubble Bomb, the playable character must either jump over their bubblegum puddles or run in-between them.
The Bubble Bomb can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. If the user leveled up to level 4 and 10, the number of bubbles create by the Bubble Bomb will increased. And if the user leveled up to level 16, the Bubble Bomb will deal more damage.
