The Broadside is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Broadside's icon uses one of the cannons in Angel's Voyage , makes orange-yellow energy for firing.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Broadside can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Knuckles the Dread . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Broadside if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Broadside by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Broadside will drop cannons some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. In addition, right after the cannons release, every of them will fire a bullet which launch ahead of the players behind them. If a character, including the user themselves, touches one of the cannons or their bullets, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Broadside, the playable character must either jump over or run in-between them.
The Broadside can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Broadside.
Trivia [ ] During 4.23.0 to 4.23.1 update, Broadside has issue that shoot the bullet in same lane that the user on instead of randomly one of cannons.
