Bro-Down Showdown's logo.

Bro-Down Showdown is a live television quiz show where pairs of friends (referred to as "bros") compete against each other to show how much they know about each other. The winners will receive a narratively convenient price.[1]

The show is hosted at varying locations. The heavily-themed set includes couches with buzzers for each pair of contestants, establishing a cozy atmosphere. The show has Comedy Chimp as the host and off-screen judges for the game. Before each show, the staff questions the participants about themselves to gather facts to use for the competition. The partner of the questioned participant cannot know what facts has been said however.[1]

Rules

The rules for Bro-Down Showdown are fairly simple. Four pair of friends can participate for each game. During the show, the host asks one from each pair a question about his or hers partner which they must answer without aid. If the contestant answers correctly, the pair earns ten points. If a contestant gives a false answer to a question the host can ask, and the partner provides the actual answer to said question, it still counts as correct (Lady Walrus answered correctly for saying that Dave worked in the fast food industry even though Dave said that he worked as a supervillain which was a lie). The pair with the least points at the end of a round get eliminated (or "bro-liminated). This continues until a winner is found.[1]

Bro-Down Showdown strongly follows the "bro code." That means that if one or both members of a pair start fighting with each other, directly or indirectly, they are instantly disqualified.[1]

History

When the latest Bro-Down Showdown was to be held in the Village Center, with the prize being a new couch, several several people met up at the audition. In the end, four pair proved suitable for the show: Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Eggman, Knuckles the Echidna and Mike the Ox, the Stuntbears, and Dave the Intern and Lady Walrus. Sonic and Knuckles in particular wanted the couch to replace Amy's.[1]

After the first round of the show, the Stuntbears and Knuckles and Mike had been eliminated. Amidst the show though, Obliterator Bot attacked the Village. However, if Sonic fought it, he would be disqualified for fighting his partner, which Eggman had planned all along to keep Sonic at bay. When Sonic still chose to fight the robot though, Dave and Lady Walus won by default, though they quickly ruined their prize.[1]
