The Breeze[1] (ブリーズ[2] Burīzu?) is a vehicle that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a sentient single-seater convertible, described as a "mysterious machine with a heart", and was used by Amy Rose during her early racing competitions.[2]
Description[]
In the Sonic Drift series, the Breeze has a blue and yellow paint job. He possesses cartoony eyes in his headlights and a mouth that can be seen above the bumper. The Breeze's driver's seat is likewise brown and dark green. He is also a convertible, as it has a flexibly operating roof on the back.
In Sonic R, a similar car appears with a red paint job, although it is depicted as a regular inanimate car unlike in the Sonic Drift series.

The Breeze first appeared in Sonic Drift as Amy's personal racing car, which she uses during races.
In gameplay, the Breeze has a good acceleration, but poor top speed. As his special ability, the Breeze can perform a "Heart Attack" to deploy a heart on the race track that reverses the controls and reduces the speed of the racer who touches it. Using this ability however, costs two Rings.

Sonic Drift 2[]
In Sonic Drift 2, the Breeze returned as Amy Rose's personal race car that she uses in the game's racing competitions.
In gameplay, the Breeze has high acceleration, medium handling, and low top speed. Also, like in Sonic Drift, the Breeze's special ability allows Amy to use a "Heart Attack"[1] that lets her deploy a heart on the track that reverses the controls and reduces the speed of the racer who touches it. Like before, using this ability costs two Rings.

In Sonic Rivals, the Breeze made an appearance on a collectible card in the game.
Sonic Generations[]
In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations, the Breeze makes a small cameo appearance on a bonus artwork in the Collection Room.

Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld, the Breeze, along with other three characters' vehicles from Sonic Drift, are used in the "Car Race" minigame. In the Car Race, the Breeze is used by Amy to race around a circular track in a one-lap kart race against the other characters.

While parked at Amy's house, the Breeze was greeted by Tails when the latter arrived. Soon after, he noticed Tails' head out of Amy's house to show Mighty and Ray Amy's self-made comics.[3]
Trivia[]
- Shinichi Higashi was the one who designed the Breeze.[4]
- Breeze's appearance is similar to Benny the Cab from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, though this is probably a coincidence.
- Breeze is also similar to Herbie, from The Love Bug. Breeze is similar in design to a Volkswagen Beetle, and his moniker as "The Love Bug" fits along with Amy and Breeze's love and heart-themed aesthetics and attacks.
