The box is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are containers with different colors and shapes which store machine parts.

Description

The boxes are containers which appear exclusively in the Mechanical Collectible Quest. In this Quest, they sport different shapes, as well colors, those being yellow, blue and purple. The boxes also have glowing details the same color as the respective box, as well black details.

Overview

In Sonic Frontiers, the boxes appear exclusively as part of Mechanical Collectible, the first Quest on Chaos Island. In this game, they are used in order to store machine parts, which are required to fix one of the Ancients' weapons.

During the quest, the player is able to destroy the boxes using a variety of different moves, including the Homing Attack, Slide and Drop Dash. The amount of hits necessary to destroy a box depends on its color. While the yellow boxes need only 1 hit in order to be destroyed, blue and purple boxes require more hits. When destroyed, the box will drop machine parts. Rarely, a switch may be hidden beneath a box, which, when activated, may lower a pulley.

During The Final Horizon scenario, the purple colored boxes reappear on Ouranos Island as a platforming element. There are also two new variants. both colored purple as well: thinner wall-like boxes, or boxes reinforced with a cyber shield that cannot be broken by any means except for Tails' Cyclone Cannon.
