Bowling Bomb is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and its spin-offs. When obtained, this power-up grants the player bombs to use against opponents.
The Item Boxes with Bowling Bomb are indicated by the icon of a stereotypical blue round bomb with an ignited fuse.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Bowling Bomb behaves differently depending on the platform. On the console/PC version of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, when using the Bowling Bomb a round bomb barrels out in front of the playable character that will roll down the track and cause an explosion when touching an opposing racer. In the Nintendo DS version of the game on the other hand, the Bowling Bombs are thrown in an arch and will create a large explosion upon impacting the ground. In either case, when an opposing racer is hit by the Bowling Bomb, they will take damage and slow down for a while. It can also destroy obstacles and minor enemies.
The player can obtain Bowling Bomb at random by touching one of the Item Boxes that lie scattered across the racing courses. When getting the Bowling Bomb, there is a chance that the player might get only one of them or a set of three. In the latter case, the player can either deploy the Bowling Bombs one by one or launch them all at once.
