Bound Rings[1] are objects that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are pairs of specialized Rings linked together with Ring Power.

Description[]

Bound Rings are pairs of rings resembling typical gold Rings. Each Bound Ring is linked to another specific Bound Ring by a stream of Ring Power.

In Knuckles' Chaotix, the Bound Rings appear as an item. In-game, every character possesses a Bound Ring which is linked to the corresponding Bound Ring of their partner by a stream of Ring Power. However, If a partner is trapped in a Combi Catcher, their Bound Ring does not function, making the main character's Bound Ring obsolete by extension.

In the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions, the Bound Rings make an appearance under the name Link-Rings. Vector and Mighty use a pair of Link-Rings to attack the Porker Metallix, knocking it off the chain to the Miracle Planet before it self-destructs.

The Sling Rings, from Sonic Universe #63.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, the Bound Rings are referred to as Sling Rings or Tethers, and are a form of technology.

The Sling Rings first appeared in Knuckles' Chaotix where they were used by the Chaotix to take on Metal Sonic v2.0. They later reappeared in Sonic Universe #63 where they were used by the Chaotix to follow Knuckles through the Pumpkin Hill Zone in mid-air.
